The objective of the proposed Project is to promote pro-poor economic growth, and, thus, contribute to poverty reduction, by improving economic efficiency and reducing the cost of road transport in the southwestern region of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The Project will relieve traffic congestion and bottlenecks on a link of the National Trunk Highway System, and provide better access to growth centers for poor communities
